It's a simple question -- will Donald Trump rule out a pardon or commutation for Epstein accomplice and convicted child sex-trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell? And yet, Trump refuses to answer it. This should be easy. But instead, he either clams up entirely (highly unusual for Trump) or dodges the question by claiming he "hasn't thought about it." This is someone who might be able to connect the dots that put Trump in a whole lot of trouble, and maybe a whole lot of jail. And he hasn't thought about it? And at the same time, Maxwell is being given all kinds of special privileges in her jail, not being asked tough questions by Justice officials, and being treated in a special way that just screams out "please don't testify and put me in jail." Trump needs to answer the question now, and pledge not to pardon her. Even his MAGA supporters agree with us on this. And reporters and others need to keep asking him every day until he answers. And sure, he's famously full of crap, and could always lie and then do it. But at least we'd make it clear to Americans across the political spectrum (and future juries) that he is hiding something big -- and bigly.
