John, I want to share a little more about why I’m in this fight.

You’ve heard what we’re up against: four Republican challengers, new district lines, and national GOP super PACs spending millions to flip CA-45.

But here’s why I won’t back down.

I grew up working behind the counter at my family’s corner store in Orange County. My parents came to this country as refugees after the fall of Saigon, hoping to give their kids a shot at something better. They relied on programs like Medicaid and food assistance just to get by -- programs that made it possible for us to stay on our feet.

After serving in the Army, I opened a small business and saw up close how hard people work -- and how often the system leaves them behind.

I didn’t plan to run for office. But I got tired of watching politicians vote to protect the powerful while communities like ours were left behind. So I stepped up, and we pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the country, flipping CA-45 by just 653 votes.

Now, the GOP wants this seat back. They think they can drown us out with attack ads and outside money. But they’re wrong.
