John,

We're lucky enough to live in a country with 154 national forests spanning more than 190 million acres. But with so many options, choosing which forest to visit can be overwhelming.[1]

But we're here to help.

Wondering what national forest to visit next? Take our new quiz to find out.

Whether you're looking for red cliffs reaching up beyond canopies of sweet scented pines, lush hills green with moss and maple or glass-smooth waterways flanked by cypress and palmettos, there's a national forest for you.

America's national forests give us so much. They provide us with clean water to drink and clean air to breathe. They offer us beautiful spaces to explore, where we can make memories that last lifetimes.

Many are also under threat.

Last summer, a Congressional proposal that would sell off millions of acres of public land was narrowly rejected.[2]

And U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins has proposed repealing the Roadless Rule, which protects 45 million acres of the country's wildest forests from fragmentation by road construction, and destruction by logging and mining.[3]

The good news is, we know we have the public on our side. Just last month, Environment America, our coalition partners and allies delivered more than 600,000 public comments to help save the forests protected by the Roadless Rule.

This is only the beginning. But with you by our side, we're confident that we can help ensure America's national forests continue to thrive for generations.

Take the "What national forest should I visit next?" quiz to learn more about some of the forests we're working to defend.
