I’ve said it before: the fastest, strongest way to protect people from a reckless and dangerous President is to elect Democratic governors who fight back and deliver.

We’ve proven that right here in Rhode Island.

When the Trump administration tried to stand in the way of clean energy jobs and lower energy costs, we fought back on Revolution Wind — and we won. That meant good union jobs here, and it meant Rhode Islanders weren’t going to pay the price for Washington’s politics.

That’s what a governor can do: protect people, move projects forward, and make sure our state doesn’t get dragged backward.

We’re doing the same thing on reproductive freedom. We eliminated a discriminatory ban on public funding for abortion so that nearly 90,000 Rhode Islanders on Medicaid or state employee plans can actually access the care they’re entitled to. While some states are banning care, we expanded it.

And, we’re not allowing Rhode Islanders to go hungry. We have restored SNAP benefits to 79,000 families in Rhode Island while Donald Trump continues to play reckless politics over the government shutdown. 

That’s the difference between me and Trump. 

Trump creates chaos and culture wars in Washington. 

Together, we create steady progress here at home.
