When I was born, my parents had just moved out of a trailer and into a small apartment in Woodlawn, New York.

My dad worked long shifts at the steel mill while taking night classes. He earned his degree and built a career in business, creating a better future for our family.

His journey taught me that with hard work and the right resources, anything is possible.

And now, as New York’s first mom Governor, I’m fighting to expand access to education and good jobs with fair wages and strong benefits — so every New Yorker has the opportunity to succeed.
