Good morning, friends!
I was so convinced that yesterday was Sunday, I almost sent you this letter instead of writing it today. If so, you would have missed the 24th chapter of my book, Haven Hill. (You can check it out at this link.) Do you have days like that, where they just feel like other days for the week?
Anyway, not that I know that today is, in fact, Sunday, here we are. I have a very simple beef stew going which I'll serve with fresh bread, buttery green beans, and mashed potatoes. I love that it's time to cook in the oven now - it always feels cozy to me. I'll have an autumnal lunch then later this afternood do a bit of cleaning and tidying. We recently brought boxes from our storage unit and I'm putting the items within at the lightning speed of...one box a day. I know, I know, it's not much, but I've always liked to split up tasks like that,
I watched a fun movie net that had Helen Mirren leading an all-star cast. The movie was called The Sunday Murder Club. I highly recommend it for a laugh and a glimpse at the older people we probably all want to be. There's a small amount of profanity, but nothing really terrible, and of course, murders, which aren't shown onscreen. I recommend it!
I'm sure, like me, many of you have begun doing your holiday shopping. I have a very small ask for you. On every page of my website there are ads down the sidebar. The very top one links to Amazon. If you could make that your saved Amazon page in your bookmarks, or go to my site to click to get to Amazon, it would really help to keep The OP funded. It is against their terms and conditions to put that link in an email, so we choose to make it easy for you in that way. Every time you shop through my link, I get a small percentage of the sale at no cost at all to you. I really appreciate it!
I plan to make many of the gifts I give this year, so I have my crochet hook, yarn, and embroidery thread and hoops at the ready. My daughters and I have done a mix of store-bought and homemade gifts for years, and it's come to be expected in such a beautiful way. Alas, I cannot tell you what I'm making because they read my emails!
My daughter's bestie - I'll call her ZM for privacy reasons - is off to the hospital tomorrow to have her baby girl in a scheduled c-section. Please think good thoughts and prayers for her, her husband, and their little boy, who is about to become a big brother.
I'll close here because I'm beginning to ramble a bit. I always love writing the Sunday emails - it is a lovely conversation with friends, even though I may not be particularly exciting these days.
Stay safe.
Be happy.
Love,
Daisy
