I never imagined I’d still be writing these words—four years after my son, DEA Special Agent Chad Scott, was taken from me and locked away in a federal prison for crimes he did not commit.
Every day, my heart aches knowing that an innocent man—a man who spent his life protecting Americans from violent drug traffickers—is behind bars while the real criminals walk free.
Chad’s story began like so many others who choose to serve.
From the time he was a little boy in Baton Rouge, he dreamed of wearing a badge and making a difference. After college, he joined the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and quickly made a name for himself as one of the best narcotics agents in Louisiana.
Before long, the DEA recruited him to lead a federal task force, and for more than two decades he took down some of the most dangerous drug rings in the South. Chad risked his life daily to keep others safe.
But his success made him enemies—both among the violent criminals he arrested and within the political establishment that has spent years waging war on law enforcement.
Decades ago, when powerful figures like Maxine Waters and Eric Holder began accusing dedicated agents of “racism” simply for enforcing the law, Chad was already on their radar. Those same political operatives later used their influence to destroy his career.
After decades of honorable service, the Department of Justice and the FBI, still infected by Obama-era corruption, launched a politically motivated investigation against my son. They relied on the words of convicted drug dealers and disgraced officers looking for lighter sentences to accuse Chad of crimes he never committed.It was a travesty of justice. And in August 2021, after a sham trial, Chad was sentenced to federal prison.
He’s 53 years old now. He’s missed birthdays, holidays, and the simple joys of life that most of us take for granted. The men he once put away are now his cellmates. And yet, through it all, Chad remains strong in his faith and steadfast in his belief that the truth will prevail.
That hope now rests on one final chance: a presidential pardon.
A formal request for clemency has been filed with President Donald J. Trump’s office, and with your help, we can finally bring Chad home. But we can’t do it alone.

They’ve raised crucial funds to defend Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Officer Daniel Sanchez, and many others whose lives were nearly destroyed by anti-police prosecutors. And now, they’re fighting for my son.
Chad devoted his life to protecting this country. Now he needs this country to protect him. Please, help us bring this innocent man home.
