Dear neighbor,

This week, I joined several CA-31 cities for their Veterans Day ceremonies. Each gathering reaffirmed our commitment to honoring our veterans, servicemembers, and their families for the sacrifices they have made. Thank you to all of our nation’s veterans and to the cities of Duarte, Azusa, Baldwin Park, and San Dimas for hosting me at your Veterans Day events.

I rushed back to Washington, D.C. to vote against the atrocious Senate budget bill that does nothing to address the Republican healthcare crisis. The government has reopened, but healthcare premiums are still soaring and hardworking American families are struggling to get by. This is unacceptable.

Rep. Cisneros Wants to know...
ACA tax credits expire at the end of 2025 and a predicted 4 million Americans will lose their healthcare. Do you think Congress should extend the ACA tax credits?

40 days after failing to fund the government, Speaker Mike Johnson finally returned to Washington—once again without a real plan to address rising healthcare costs. This bill does nothing to stop the Republican healthcare crisis. Just take a look at your healthcare premiums this open season. Parents will be forced to make the impossible choice between food, housing, or medication, thanks to Republicans’ cruel and inhumane policies. The Republican healthcare crisis is making Americans sicker, poorer, and worse off. I could never vote for a bill that puts American families in that position.

Congratulations to my colleague, Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva, on officially being sworn into Congress. After 50+ days of stalling tactics from the Speaker, Arizona’s 7th district finally has formal representation in Congress. Rep. Grijalva, I am proud to officially welcome you to the House and the largest class in Congressional Hispanic Caucus history!

This week, we celebrated and honored our veterans, servicemembers, and their families in CA-31 and across the country. To those who have dedicated their life to that patriotic oath and sacrificed so much to defend our nation, thank you for your service.

I visited One Legacy in Azusa, our nation's largest Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) that facilitates organ donation, educates, and creates a network of support for families of organ donors. It was great to see the work they do to save lives and build community.
