Dear John,

We’ve just concluded Liberty Forum & Freedom Dinner 2025 in New York City, and the past week has been truly inspiring. Sharing this time with friends of liberty from 68 countries underscored the strength and determination of the worldwide freedom movement.

Georgia’s Future Academy wins the 2025 Templeton Freedom Award

Congratulations to Georgia’s Future Academy, the winner of this year’s Templeton Freedom Award. At a time when Georgia is experiencing real strain on its democratic institutions, this organization has become an essential source of civic strength. In addition to preparing young people through student academies, debates, and policy discussions, they have taken an active role in encouraging peaceful civic engagement during moments of political tension. Their leadership is helping both today’s citizens and the rising generation uphold the principles of a free society.

Bendukidze Free Market Center wins the Smart Bets Pitch Competition

This year’s Smart Bets Pitch Competition featured ambitious projects from around the world, and the winning pitch came from Nataliya Melnyk of the Bendukidze Free Market Center in Ukraine. Their initiative expands economic education and critical thinking programs for young Ukrainians through free market-friendly curriculum, interactive courses, and youth-focused communication tools. This work is already reaching students throughout the country and helping prepare a rising generation with the principles and understanding needed to sustain and eventually rebuild a free and prosperous Ukraine.

Two front-line countries in the struggle between authoritarianism and liberty

Many attendees noted the significance of both major recognitions going to partners in Georgia and Ukraine, two countries on the front lines of the struggle between authoritarianism and liberty in Europe today. Their achievements highlight the importance of principled organizations working steadily to equip citizens with the ideas and tools needed to sustain free countries.

Sir Antony Fisher Achievement Award: Honoring Dan Grossman

We were also honored to present the Sir Antony Fisher Achievement Award to Dan Grossman this year for his remarkable decades of service to the worldwide freedom movement.

After retiring from a successful business career at age 50, Dan accumulated more than a century of concurrent board service across organizations dedicated to advancing liberty. His steady leadership, judgment, and generosity have strengthened numerous institutions, often quietly, and always with deep commitment.

This award gave our community the chance to recognize his exceptional contribution. Dan has famously worn the same tie to every Atlas Network Liberty Forum, so to commemorate this special moment, we presented him with a new Atlas Network–branded tie in good spirit.
