Volunteer Ireland Awards 2019 Launched
The 2019 Volunteer Ireland Awards are now open for nominations. Each year we ask the public to nominate their friends, family, colleagues and fellow volunteers for a national Volunteer Ireland award so we can say thank you to those special people who give so much.

Making a nomination is quick and easy and it can all be done online. Everyone who is nominated will receive a special 'thank you' card from Volunteer Ireland to show our appreciation for everything that they do. Following a tough judging process, 30 volunteers will be shortlisted and one will be named Christine Buckley Volunteer of the Year at a ceremony in December.

You can read more about the awards here and don't forget to read our handy FAQ about making a nomination. Help us celebrate the ordinary people doing extraordinary things in communities across Ireland and make a nomination today.

New Tool To Track Volunteer Skills Launched
A new online tool from the National Youth Council of Ireland to help young people highlight skills gained in volunteering and youth work activities is now available.

Skills Summary is an easy to use online tool that measures the skills young people gain by participating in out of school opportunities, such as leadership, problem solving, teamwork and adaptability. It builds young people`s confidence in helping them realise the life skills that they already have and communicate the value of these skills to future employers, supporting CV and job interview preparation.
