Earlier this month, it was revealed that Dominion Voting Systems, the company that handles more than a quarter of U.S. ballots, has been sold to a former Republican elections official.

While this is wildly inappropriate and troubling, the partisan ownership of an election supplier is merely one aspect of the badly broken, opaque, and corrupted election system industry that we’ve been subjected to for decades.

Why the sale of Dominion Voting Systems matters:

We don’t know the terms of the sale, the investors involved, or who truly controls this critical election infrastructure now.
This is only the latest example of how our election-system vendors operate behind closed doors: private equity, undisclosed owners, and little to no oversight.
Our elections depend on transparency, accountability, and public trust – not secret deals and hidden power.

The sale of Dominion to a Republican partisan is, at bottom, a reminder: These are our elections. We should know who’s running them. If you agree, please share the piece with friends and on social media.
