The government shutdown finally ended this week after more than six weeks of gridlock -- the longest in our nation’s history.

Families, small businesses, and federal workers are still reeling, and there’s no sign that Republican leadership has learned anything from the chaos they caused. And instead of fixing the damage, this budget deal risks making things even harder for families struggling with rising healthcare costs by not guaranteeing a vote to extend the ACA credits.

While they focus on political games, I’m focused on delivering results and reaching new voters -- especially as Prop 50’s new maps begin reshaping our district. National Republicans are already ramping up spending to define this race first, and we can’t afford to fall behind against our top-raising MAGA challenger.

If this shutdown showed us anything, it’s that we can’t afford to let Republicans take back the House next year. Their unwillingness to work across the aisle and using working families as bargaining chips is unacceptable.
