Dear John,
Donald Trump has been in clear mental decline for some time, but in recent weeks, the signs have become even more undeniable:
-
A day after meeting with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, he was unable to remember Jeffries’ name.
- He claimed that he had halted a nuclear war between Iran and Pakistan, repeatedly confusing Iran with India. Later he said that he had “solved” a conflict between Cambodia and Armenia, two nations that are 4,000 miles apart and definitely not at war.
- He appeared to fall asleep for 20 minutes during a press conference at the White House with Mehmet Oz.
- He posted an image claiming that Barack Obama is getting millions in Obamacare “royalties,” a false claim he apparently saw on a satirical website that he confused for actual news.
I could go on, but you get the point. This is a man who appears to be losing his mind.
But what’s been the media’s response to Trump’s mental deterioration? Nada. They either ignore it or dismiss it as “Trump just being Trump.”
Nonsense. This is a 79-year-old man with a family history of dementia losing his grip on reality right before our eyes.
There are constitutional steps for dealing with a president who becomes mentally incapacitated, but that won’t happen unless the American people know the truth. That’s why Inequality Media Civic Action has launched a major public education effort to sound the alarm, and now we’re counting on your help to ramp it up.
Will you make a monthly donation to help educate the public and sound the alarm about Trump’s rapid mental decline?
Perhaps the most telling evidence of Trump’s growing dementia is his paranoid thirst for revenge, on which he is centering much of his presidency.
Since reoccupying the Oval Office, Trump has demanded that his attorney general target political opponents, urged the head of his FCC to go after late-night comedians, and gutted the career staff at the Justice Department in favor of incompetent MAGA loyalists.
Ask yourself: Are these the acts of a sane person? Or of an aging paranoid megalomaniac?
But when I ask people in the media why they’re ignoring Trump’s dementia, some deny that there’s been any noticeable decline, which is absurd. Others are self-censoring for fear of retribution. And some have told me that media owners are blocking stories about Trump’s apparent senility.
So while the corporate media refuses to cover the growing threat of a potentially senile U.S. president losing his grip on reality, we’re blowing the whistle. However, everything we do relies on the financial support of people like you.
So I’m asking you today: Will you make a monthly donation to help educate the public and sound the alarm about Trump’s rapid mental decline?
Thank you,
Robert Reich
