In case you missed it, I’m endorsing Dr. Abdul El-Sayed for Michigan’s
open U.S. Senate seat. He’s running to build a government that actually
works for working people, not corporations or would-be oligarchs.
Abdul is the only candidate in the race who’s never taken a dime from
corporate PACs, and who has never pandered to pro-genocide groups like
AIPAC. [ [link removed] ]Could you split a donation to power his grassroots campaign
today?
While Abdul will focus on protecting human rights, he’s running against
one of the nation’s top recipients of AIPAC donations. So he’s up against
obscene amounts of money from AIPAC and corporate PACs that are trying to
buy another seat in Congress.
Abdul is also the only candidate in the race who’s fighting for Medicare
for All. He won't waver on access to health care for all. Like me, Abdul
is also focused on ending medical debt. No one should be punished for
getting sick.
As a two-time public health official, he created programs that eliminated
$700 million in medical debt for 300,000 people, removed lead from
Detroit’s elementary schools, secured free glasses for tens of thousands
of kids, and made life-saving Narcan universally accessible. Last weekend,
I joined his town hall to talk about navigating and fixing our broken
healthcare system.

Back in 2018, Abdul and I were arrested while protesting with fast food
workers to raise the minimum wage and strengthen the right to form unions.
Abdul is running because it shouldn’t be this hard in the richest country
on Earth to afford groceries, see a doctor, or believe our kids will have
it better than us.
Abdul and I also share a history of holding corporate polluters
accountable and cleaning up our air and water. Here’s us together at a

Born and raised in Michigan, Abdul will be the first Muslim and the first
Arab American in the U.S. Senate if he wins.
With all the racist, Islamophobic attacks from Democrats and Republicans
against Zohran Mamdani, it’s clear we need more Muslims in federal office
to represent all Americans—and show that we belong here, including in the
halls of power.
As we saw with Zohran’s win earlier this month, we can overcome
billionaire interference in our democracy if we join together and demand
transformative change.
