The most revealing works of art are often created in times of stress and anguish. In “Starry Night” and “Wheatfield with Crows,” Vincent van Gogh’s swirling brush strokes and vivid imagery reflect his inner turmoil and fears. Sadly, Truth Social is Donald Trump’s demented canvas. And yesterday morning’s post was his magnum opus.

To be fair, Trump has had a terrible month. It started off on a low point with the Republican Party’s sweeping electoral defeat. Then, the country rightfully blamed the Party and the Trump administration for the longest government shutdown in history. Even his redistricting gambit seems to be collapsing under the weight of Democratic counterstrikes and court defeats.

Through it all, his poll numbers — the thing he values most in politics — continue to fall.

Then, this week, his worst fear came true. New emails surfaced exposing Trump’s knowledge and participation in Jeffrey Epstein’s sordid activities.

Cornered and desperate, Trump turned to his favorite outlet to relieve stress: Truth Social. In a revealing post about the Epstein Files, Trump gave America a horrifying look inside his head. He aimed his ire at Democrats, directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate his political opponents, and subtweeted the Russia investigation.

Truth Social has long been Trump’s preferred vehicle of operation. He uses it to announce policies, command his Cabinet members, and even fire staff. However, this Truth Social post was something special: it offered some of Trump’s greatest hits and showed us exactly where our president’s mind is at. And, while I don’t hate anyone enough to have them suffer inside Trump’s head, it’s helpful for us to know.

So, what is Trump thinking? Let’s review...
