Hi there,
This fall, all the way until Election Day, NPPEF’s CEO, Kadida Kenner, was on the PA turnpike!
As part of the Why Courts Matter engagement program, Kadida was literally meeting Pennsylvanians where they were across the Commonwealth and engaged in a four-month-long civic education roadshow where she hosted a total of 18 presentations.
The “Why Courts and Judicial Elections Matter” presentations aimed to highlight the role of our state courts, cases heard at the appellate and intermediate appellate levels, historical context regarding attacks on the PA Supreme Court’s independence. Attendees left feeling the power of their votes as Pennsylvania is one of only seven states that elects all of our judges and justices in partisan elections. This year’s judicial retention elections matter in protecting our rights and freedoms.
Attendees of these interactive civic education events left with a better understanding of our state judiciary and how court decisions impact our daily lives.
Throughout 2025, NPPEF hosted more than 50 community engagement events across the Commonwealth, and our work to provide civic education worked as voters turned out to vote their values. THIS is the impact of our work. Our work doesn’t end here. We work year-round to engage, register, and turn voters out for every election. Help us keep up the momentum by chipping in $25 to support our critical work today.

Donations to the New PA Project Education Fund supports our staff’s voter and community engagement efforts including; voter registration, civic education, organizing and hosting town halls, educational webinars, community conversations, and creating digital content, bi-weekly blasts and social media to reach the communities we engage year-round.
The New PA Project Education Fund (NPPEF) is a non-partisan organization led by community leaders across the Commonwealth dedicated to centering underrepresented and underserved communities to embrace their power. NPPEF ensures full participation in the democratic process through civic education and year-round engagement by centering Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth - with intention - as they are the least represented and most impacted by decisions our government is making.
