On Wednesday, after the longest shutdown in U.S. history, Republicans passed a spending bill that locks in massive health care price increases that will cause millions of people to lose coverage.

The bill passed funds the government only through January 30, 2026, with NO legislative action to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits. The Republican-led House Rules Committee rejected a Democratic amendment to extend the credits for three years.

Trump’s greed and Republican cuts are breaking health care in America. Ohio cannot afford Trump’s agenda, and House Republicans simply do not care. 38,000 people in my district alone will see their premiums skyrocket: America’s health care crisis is here – and Congress must act.

For seven weeks, I stood firm with the people I represent who wanted to see health care protected, and I will continue to fight. There’s still time for Trump and Republicans in Congress to do the right thing, and we must keep up the pressure.
