Shutdown Capitulation: Dems Cave!

Reform the Democratic Party or

Do We Need a New Party?

This Sun, 11/16

5pm

Victrola Cafe (411 15th Ave E) - Community room

In spectacular fashion the Democratic Party Establishment folded to Trump and the GOP’s intransigence without winning anything on their central demand for healthcare subsidies. What is the way forward for stopping Trump and the Rights rampage on working people? It’s clear we can’t rely on the Democratic Party establishment - should we try to reform the Dems? Or build a new political party? IS the solution to elect more Zohran’s as Democrats? Or maybe we eschew the electoral plane all together and focus on mutual aid and directly helping working people through tenant unions and the like?

Come discuss with your fellow District 3 members - you don’t need to live in D3 to attend, all are welcome!  We’ll also be discussing tabling and postering in District 3 to get the word out about the free childcare campaign, find volunteers, and introduce people to Seattle DSA.

People’s Forum Series on Artificial Intelligence

Data Centers, Water, & Energy -
Who Controls the Commons?

Wed 11/19

6pm

Prospect UCC (1919 E Prospect St UNIT 302)

RSVP

Hosted by Seattle DSA, Troublemakers, and 350 Seattle

Join us for a series of community discussions exploring the real-world power and politics behind artificial intelligence (AI) - from the data centers that drain our water and energy, to the algorithms transforming work, democracy, and daily life. This isn’t a tech talk; it’s a people’s conversation about who controls the future - and how we can fight for one that serves the public good. From labor rights to climate justice, we’ll unpack the material, political, and ecological stakes of AI — and build the understanding and solidarity we’ll need to push back.

As AI expands, data centers are multiplying across Washington — drawing enormous amounts of water and energy without public oversight. Who decides how these resources are used? Who benefits, and who bears the costs?

Free and open to the public.
Light refreshments provided. (Potluck — bring a dish if you’re inspired!
