Yesterday, I joined with 18 Attorneys General from across the country to stop the Trump administration from deporting hundreds of thousands of international students currently taking their classes virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Trump administration’s abrupt rule change targeting international students is not only cruel, it’s dangerous. If it goes into effect, colleges could be forced to offer in-person classes to keep their international students from being deported, even if it is not yet safe to do so.
While it’s disappointing that President Trump has once again tried to use this unprecedented health crisis to divide us rather than unite us, I know we are better than this.
