Congratulations and Thank you, California Democrats & Independent Voters Every phone call, every conversation, every door knock, every postcard sent, made this victory possible. California Democrats and affliated organizations proved once again the road to taking the House of Representatives runs through California. California voters showed up in big numbers to support Prop 50, the Election Rigging Response Act, with the measure passing by an overwhelming margin, 64-36. Credit for this landmark victory goes to the thousands of volunteers who worked to make sure that every voter knew how important this Special Election was in protecting democracy and sending a strong message to Trump. Over the 11 weeks of this campaign, an unprecendented grassroots organizing effort turned out millions of voters in an off-year special election. More than 22,000 volunteers knocked on more than 330,000 doors, made 4.7 million calls and had more than 225,000 conversations to mobilize Democrats and Independents statewide. The California Democratic Party and affiliated organization outreach efforts focused on key constituencies, including the Black, Latino, and AAPI communities and also included in-language voter contact efforts in Spanish and several AAPI languages. In the face of Trump's ongoing efforts to suppress the vote through fear and chaos, we exponentially expanded the CADEM Voter Protection Program, mobilizing hundreds of volunteer attorneys, poll observers and hotline workers across the state to ensure every California voter could cast their ballot freely, fairly and with confidence. Winning Prop 50 was a turning point and a clear signal that California Democrats and Independents refuse to let Donald Trump and his MAGA extremists rewrite the rules of Democracy.
