This is Congresswoman LaMonica McIver. My legal battle against the Trump
administration continues.

The court just denied my motions to dismiss these baseless charges. This
decision is disappointing, but my case is not over and I will keep
fighting.

From the start, it has been clear: The Trump administration is trying to
intimidate me, go after me for doing my job and drain me of my resources.
They’ve made it clear they want to see this through, and because of their
meritless charges, I’m facing up to 17 years in prison. I worry this
decision will only embolden Trump more.

As we look at what next steps we should take to win against Trump and his

The Trump administration wants to punish political opponents and anyone
who speaks up, silence dissent, drain me of my resources with an expensive
legal battle, and put me in prison for up to 17 years. I am being targeted
for doing my oversight work at an ICE facility earlier this year.
