Introducing No Kid Hungry's 2019 Summer Meals Heroes!

We are thrilled to recognize the winners of our 2019 Summer Meals Hero awards. This year's inspiring line-up of local champions is proof that it really does take a village to feed kids in the summertime. They've gone above and beyond to find creative ways to deliver food – and fun – for kids living with hunger. You can read about all five winners here on our blog.

We're also proud to welcome more than 50 champions from all across the nation into No Kid Hungry's Summer Meals Hall of Fame.

We hope you'll join us in celebrating this year's No Kid Hungry Summer Meals Heroes, and all the everyday heroes like these who make summer meals possible for kids in your community!

And while you're at it, take a bow yourself. We couldn't do this without you.

Arkansas Schools Fight Hunger With Free Meals For All

In northern Arkansas, even families above the poverty line are barely scraping by. To combat hunger and give the kids a fighting chance for a better future, the Ozark Mountain School District is providing free breakfast and lunch...for every student.

"You feed your kids however you can," says Denise Turney, No Kid Hungry summer hero and child nutrition director for the district. "Now they have a chance of having a full belly when they're trying to learn."

Watch a local Arkansas TV news story about the plan.

Kristen Bell

Watch TV, Feed Hungry Kids

Thanks to Hulu and No Kid Hungry champion Kristen Bell, you can feed hungry kids from the comfort of your sofa. When you watch the first episode of the new season of Veronica Mars, Hulu will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry. As part of a Hulu campaign called "Stream for a Cause," Hulu hit their goal of $50,000 to help people across the country!

Maybe more important, you'll get to catch up on the mysterious doings in mythical Neptune, California, where Veronica Mars is set.

See what Ms. Bell has to say about this promotion and about her commitment to feeding hungry kids.
