2026 is weeks away, and we know that Donald Trump and Republicans are trying to flip New Mexico red.
Just days ago, another Republican opponent entered this race, and another is rumored to be announcing soon. Opponents are lining up to bring the MAGA playbook to the governor’s office.
They know just as well as we do that New Mexico’s governorship tends to flip parties every eight years, and they’re coming for this seat right on schedule. Before long, conservative super PACs and right-wing megadonors will begin pouring millions of dollars into our state and try to buy a path to victory.
That’s why it’s absolutely critical we stay on pace to reach our fundraising goals, but right now we’re not.
As you know, I don’t come from wealth, and I’ve never had the means to self-fund a campaign. What I do have is this grassroots team — tens of thousands of folks like you who believe that New Mexico needs a governor who understands what it means to struggle and who will fight fiercely for our home and our people.
The average online donation to our campaign is $23. It’s that steady stream of people-powered support that allows us to build support across our beautiful state. It helps us pay for critical campaign investments, distribute literature, run digital ads, and connect with voters in the places that are too often ignored.
The reality is this: When Donald Trump and Republicans put millions into flipping this state, we won’t stand a chance unless our grassroots numbers are strong. We can’t let this happen. That’s why I’m concerned, and it’s why I’m asking for your support today to help us reach our mid-month goal.
