The story describes how at the time she met Gaetz she was living at a homeless shelter and needed the money to save up for braces to fix her teeth. It’s just so dark. Despite the mountains of evidence against Gaetz, Trump nominated him as Attorney General. Support for him was so low, even the most vocal MAGA cheerleaders refused to get on board with the idea. Trump ultimately was forced to withdraw Gaetz from consideration. Only the most depraved and hardcore defenders of Trump remained in favor of Gaetz as AG. Lauren Boebert not only enthusiastically endorsed Gaetz, she also went on a news blitz fighting for him to lead the Justice Department: After the Attorney General nomination fiasco had passed, Boebert floated Matt Gaetz as a Special Counsel to oversee any and all investigations into the Epstein Files scandal. It couldn't be more obvious: Boebert’s judgment is fatally flawed and she has got to go. The company she keeps is more than troubling—it’s disqualifying. Boebert is in Congress because of just 546 votes and in 2024 when Trisha Calvarese, her Democratic opponent ran against her we had the best performance a Democrat has ever had in this district, overperforming Kamala Harris by 6 pts whereas Boebert massively underperformed Trump in every county. Trisha’s back to finish the job in 2026 but without a groundswell of support from good Democrats who want to see enablers like Boebert kicked out of office, Trisha faces an uphill battle - a possible stinging defeat instead of an incredible victory for the entire country.
