Grab power over elections: Trump allies are laying the groundwork for an attempted hostile takeover of American elections — beginning with a fake “national emergency” designed to override local and state procedures, sideline Congress, and reshape voting rules with executive power.

It’s inspired by Trump’s baseless conspiracy theories about why he lost in 2020, which he’s still fixated on. He recently said: “We can never let what happened in the 2020 election happen again...I know [FBI Director] Kash [Patel] is working on it, everybody's working on it, and certainly [Director of National Intelligence] Tulsi [Gabbard] is working on it.”
