John,
In August, Customs and Border Patrol agents raided a firefighting crew in the Olympic National Forest.
They arrested two people who were putting their lives on the line to fight the Bear Gulch Fire, the largest wildfire in the state.
Emily introduced a new bill to ensure that never happens again: the Emergency Responder Protection Act.

When CBP agents entered the Bear Gulch fire zone and detained firefighters without warning or coordination with the coordinated emergency response efforts, they put their lives and the crew’s lives at risk.
Emily’s bill would ban immigration enforcement operations in active disaster zones and ensure our first responders can do their jobs without looking over their shoulders.
Can you add your name as a Citizen Cosponsor and voice your support so this bill can become law?
Thank you so much 💙
