Friends, serving as your representative has been the honor of a lifetime. For the last two years, I’ve loved advocating for our community and fighting for my neighbors.

When Trump tried to personally recruit a Republican to run against me, I didn’t let it phase me.

When Republicans spent almost $1 million on attack ads trying to smear my record, I took it in stride.

That’s because I knew that despite national Republicans’ best attempts, I could still break through, speak to voters, and give them the facts about my values and my time in Congress.

But the thing is, now the stakes are getting higher.

For the last two years, Republicans haven’t had a candidate to rally around. But after their upcoming primary, their chosen candidate will officially be on the ballot against me -- and they can finally give that challenger everything they’ve got.

We know national Republicans will flood the airwaves with misleading ads and pollute social media with lies about me -- they’re already doing it. With Trump and the GOP machine working to prop up their candidate, we’re going to have a harder time breaking through.
