Dear John,
We all know what’s happening to immigrants, our families, friends, and communities under the Trump administration. We don’t need to share that news with you. But recently, our Immigration Justice Campaign has seen a string of wins—the kind of good news that gives us fuel to keep fighting. We want to share those wins with you, so you can share in the joy of these bright spots. |
Our Volunteer Attorneys Are Winning in Court
|
- An IJC volunteer successfully won asylum for a man from India who was detained by ICE since November 2024. He fled his country because of persecution due to his political opinion and activism.
-
Two volunteers recently won Cancellation of Removal cases for their clients in ICE detention. These cases are notoriously difficult to win—and one of the volunteer attorneys was an immigration law novice.
-
Since the beginning of October, IJC volunteers have won 11 cases in all—representing LGBTQ activists, someone facing persecution for U.S. government association in Afghanistan, ethnic and religious minorities facing extreme harm, and parents and caretakers whose relatives in the U.S. depend on them, among others.

You can join us! We need: |
We’re facing challenges we never could have anticipated when we drew up our budget for 2025. That’s why we opened the IJC Access Fund.
The Access Fund gives us flexibility to meet our changing needs in this chaotic environment. When we need to fund travel for an attorney to make a hearing in person, cover urgent interpretation needs, arrange a bus ticket for someone who’s just gotten out of immigration detention, or any other costs that might come up—your support of the Access Fund lets us do that. Please donate any amount, large or small, to help us keep doing this work. |
Thank you as always for your support of the Council and our dedicated volunteers!
Sincerely, Bekah Wolf Director, Immigration Justice Campaign |
