Paramount, owner of CBS, Comedy Central, and a bunch of other channels, just merged with another giant company called Skydance.
But apparently that wasn’t enough. The Paramount Skydance CEO now wants to buy up Warner Brothers.
Reminder: Warner Brothers merged with Discovery — owner of Animal Planet, the Food Network, and HGTV — in 2022.
So if this next mega-deal goes through, that’ll combine HBO, CNN, CBS News, Showtime, TBS, Comedy Central, TNT, Paramount+, TLC, HGTV, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Animal Planet, CBS Sports, Adult Swim, TeenNick, Boomerang, Cinemax, Cooking Channel, Food Network, Discovery Channel, Science Channel, The CW Network, Travel Channel, BET, MTV, VH1…all into one giant company.
When all these media companies start combining, suddenly you have fewer options and less competition.
This is all a trap to hike your bills. We have antitrust laws to put a stop to this kind of corporate concentration — and I’m fighting to enforce them.
I’m sounding the alarm to protect consumers from these giant conglomerates that suppress competition and make prices skyrocket. If you’re with me in this fight, please chip in to support our campaign today so we can continue to stop monopolies from screwing over consumers. |

Let’s rewind to understand how this Paramount-Skydance deal even happened. If you remember, Paramount and Skydance had been wanting to merge for months, but needed approval from the Trump administration.
That approval was conveniently approved after Donald Trump made a multimillion-dollar secret side deal with Skydance’s CEO, David Ellison.
You might have heard of David Ellison and his father, Larry Ellison, before. Larry Ellison is a tech billionaire, and a close friend of Donald Trump’s.
By taking over Paramount, David Ellison was able to take control of CBS and install what the execs are calling a “bias monitor” to watch what CBS journalists say. Now, Ellison is trying to buy Warner Brothers., CNN’s parent company. To top it all off, Trump is also tapping the Ellisons as part of the corporate group to run TikTok.
So let’s get this straight: A couple billionaires who are buddy-buddy with Trump could control a huge percentage of our media and our social media platforms if these mergers and acquisitions continue without any accountability or enforcement of our federal laws.
That’s bad for American families, it’s bad for our free press, and it’s bad for our democracy.
I won’t stand for this — and I’m fighting back. If you’re sick and tired of media companies charging you more and more and more just to watch your favorite shows, and if you’re able to, please pitch in anything you can today to push back.
Thanks for being a part of this,
Elizabeth
