Here’s just a glimpse of what our state affiliates have accomplished: 

• Colorado: Conservation Colorado helped pass a groundbreaking State Voting Rights Act that empowers communities of color to challenge unfair election systems that prevent their voices from being heard. Learn more about how the State Voting Rights Act was passed >>

• Michigan: Michigan LCV led the charge to defeat a restrictive constitutional amendment that would have made it harder to register and vote. Get the full scoop on this voting rights victory >>

• Washington: Washington Conservation Action hosted a statewide Democracy Lobby Day, helping expand automatic voter registration to include Tribal entities and the state health authority. Read more about Washington’s Democracy Lobby Day and other state events >>

• Virginia: Virginia LCV helped advance a restoration of rights amendment to the state constitution, moving the state closer to restoring voting rights for previously incarcerated Virginians re-entering society. Each of these policy victories strengthens the foundation of our democracy — and with it, our ability to fight for clean air, safe drinking water, and a livable planet for everyone.

LCV and our 30 state affiliates are demonstrating what’s possible when people come together to counter authoritarianism and defend the rights of everyday people to have a say in how their government is run.
