Parents don’t always see eye to eye when it comes to making rules for kids. Does she need to wear mittens when it’s cold? When is it time to get out of the water? Disagreements like these are just part of raising a kid. But as the pandemic drags on and everyone’s safety is on the line, the stakes feel higher and the pressure is more intense.

Now things that used to be no-brainers can easily become battlegrounds for exhausted parents. At the playground, your toddler won’t wear her mask. Do you give in or go home? You take your kid to the dentist and the waiting room is crowded. Safe to stay? Who knows!

This week on childmind.org we offer expert advice on how to navigate disputes more effectively, keep a united front (even when you don’t agree) and find ways to work together during this difficult time.
