President Trump in Full Support as I Officially Filed for My 2026 Reelection

It’s official! I’ve filed my paperwork to run for reelection as Lt. Governor of Texas. I’m honored to have President Donald Trump’s complete and total endorsement. With his support — and yours — we’ll keep Texas red and keep Texas, Texas!

A Major Win in the Fight Against Intoxicating THC: U.S. Senate Votes to Ban Dangerous THC Products Nationwide

On Monday night, the U.S. Senate rejected Sen. Rand Paul’s amendment that sought to remove a national ban on intoxicating consumable hemp from the resolution to reopen the government.

The vote was 76–24 against Paul’s amendment. This strong bipartisan vote shows that the U.S. Senate recognizes the dangers of these poisonous THC products.

Later that evening, the Senate passed H.R. 5371 to reopen the federal government. Notably, the resolution included a national ban on intoxicating hemp-derived THC, similar to the legislation passed by the Texas Legislature.

In the midst of a federal government shutdown, the Senate felt so strongly about the THC issue that it ensured the ban was included. The intoxicating THC ban passed with an overwhelming bipartisan majority — just as it did in Texas.

This THC ban has been a priority for me, and I appreciate Congress for addressing this important issue at the national level. I believe this ban will help protect an entire generation from becoming addicted to dangerous drugs.

Republicans Held the Line:

After President Trump signed the government funding resolution late Wednesday night, the federal government is now reopened.

As part of the resolution, consumable, highly intoxicating hemp-derived THC is essentially banned in America. Farmers are protected to produce industrial products. CBD and CBG are still legal.

However, Delta-8, Delta-10, and candies, snacks, and gummies with high dosages of intoxicating THC are all banned. Hemp-derived Delta-9 will only be allowed to be sold in very low, non-intoxicating dosages.

Texas Compassionate Use Program for Medical Marijuana:

Texans who suffer from cancer, PTSD, and other diseases can access medical marijuana with a doctor’s prescription to help treat their illness if needed.

This year, the Texas Legislature expanded our medical marijuana program, called the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP), to one of the biggest in America, so Texans who suffer from cancer, PTSD, and other diseases can get medical marijuana with a prescription from a doctor to treat their illness, instead of self-medicating with unregulated and potentially unsafe products sold in smoke shops and convenience stores.

These stores sell high-dosage, intoxicating products that have no quality control and unknown amounts of THC, which can cause paranoia, schizophrenia, and can potentially kill people. Watch this short clip from a convenience store saleswoman speaking to an undercover law enforcement officer about how what they are selling could kill them.

I’ve Pledged $1 Million to Put a Turning Point USA Chapter on Every College and High School Campus in Texas

On Tuesday night, Attorney General Ken Paxton and I spoke to the University of Houston’s Turning Point USA (TPUSA) chapter. There was great enthusiasm for carrying forward Charlie Kirk’s mission to promote faith, freedom, and limited government, as well as his legacy.

Prior to the event, I had a long call with Turning Point executives about putting TPUSA chapters on every high school and college campus in Texas.

As we wrapped up the call, I shared a fond memory of Charlie from President Trump’s 2017 Inauguration. Charlie and I were heading to the Trump Hotel to celebrate, and walked in the door at the same time. We began a conversation from there.

I was always inspired by his mission “to identify, educate, train, and organize students to promote the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government.” Charlie was confident he could achieve that. Later, he brought his faith into his discussions on campus with a boldness and conviction that only grew his following.

I had not planned to make a donation before the call, but the Lord put it on my heart to make a meaningful contribution to kick-start the Texas project.

I committed a million dollars from my campaign to honor that young man from many years ago who shared his dream with me, and in hopes that others will follow, at any amount, whether it’s $10 or much more. He gave his life for his mission. He gave his life for Christ.

It’s up to us to see his vision grow far beyond what even he may have thought possible.

Since Charlie’s death, over 135,000 requests have been made to start TPUSA chapters.

Texas has the size and the heart to open more chapters than any other state and more than most countries.

After Tuesday night, I am even more confident that we will soon have a TPUSA chapter on every college and high school campus in our great state!

Let’s get it done for Charlie and for Texas.

39 Attorneys General Tell Federal Lawmakers to Ban Hemp THC Products

Have you seen this? On October 24, the chief law officers from 37 states and two U.S. territories sent a letter to leaders of House and Senate committees, urging them to halt the sale and production of “dangerous and intoxicating” hemp-derived THC products.

More on My $1 Million Pledge

On Wednesday morning, I joined Jimmy Barrett on KTRH Houston’s Morning News to discuss my $1 million pledge to put Turning Point USA chapters on every college and high school campus in Texas. Click here to listen.

Thank you for all your support over the years and for everything you do to keep Texas red. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
