john,

Today is National Diabetes Awareness Day, and for Kim, this fight is deeply personal.

As a pediatrician, Kim spent years caring for kids and families managing diabetes. And as someone who lives with Type 1 diabetes herself, she knows exactly what it means when politicians play reckless games with people's healthcare.

Kim has been a leading voice in Congress and fought tooth and nail against the GOP's relentless attacks on American healthcare. So far, she has:

✅ Fought to expand access to affordable insulin

✅ Introduced the bipartisan SCREEN for Type 1 Diabetes Act to raise awareness and expand early screening to help families detect and manage diabetes sooner

✅ Improved public education and prevention efforts

✅ Fought to ensure every American, no matter their ZIP code or income, can access the care they need.

But once again, Donald Trump is doing everything he can to undo the progress Kim has fought for.

Earlier this year, his administration canceled $400 million in federal research grants, including crucial funding for the Diabetes Prevention Program—one of the most successful public health studies in history that helped millions of Americans reduce their risk of Type 2 diabetes by over 50%.

But this isn't just about one program. It's part of a larger pattern; the same old attacks on science, healthcare, and the people who depend on them. But Kim knows Americans deserve better than Trump's dangerous games. She'll always fight to protect access to care and to ensure that families have the tools and treatments they need to live full, healthy lives. But it's going to take all of us stepping up to hold this administration accountable.

Add your name today to stand with Kim and demand Congress protect and expand healthcare access for every American, including those living with diabetes. >>

Thank you,

Kim Schrier for Congress
