On the heels of a maddening back-and-forth over funding SNAP food assistance for hungry kids and families, I'm writing to ask you to spread some joy and ease some burdens this month.

Can you chip in $3 to donate to Feeding America as they prepare to provide a meaningful Thanksgiving meal for families across the country? [[link removed]]

The cruel battle of funding and defunding SNAP is carrying on thanks to Republican leaders too cowardly to stand up to the president – and it's making a harsh reality even worse: 9 out of 10 counties with the highest rates of food insecurity are rural and, nationally, 16% of all rural households are food insecure.

But no matter where you live, Feeding America is helping struggling families during especially tough times.

Mobile pantries bring food assistance right to where it's needed most – to seniors, kids, and families, whether they're in small towns or out-of-the-way places.

As we plan to gather with our families and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving later this month, this is the perfect time to give back and help out rural friends and neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet. [[link removed]]

Thank you for joining me in giving what you can to this important cause.

Heidi
