Governor Kelly Announces
Administration Appointments
*
TOPEKA* – Governor Laura Kelly announced on Friday nine appointments to the following state boards, commissions, and council.
*_Employee First Oversight Commission
_**Purpose*: To make annual recommendations to the Governor, Legislature, and state agencies on strategies to increase the rate of competitive integrated employment for Kansans with disabilities.
* Craig Knutson, Topeka
* Nikki Heiman, Baileyville (reappointment)
*_Board of Accountancy
_**Purpose*: To carry out the laws and administrative regulations governing Certified Public Accountants.
* Trina Harmon, Wichita (reappointment)
* Lucky DeFries, Topeka (reappointment)
*_911 Coordinating Council
_**Purpose*: To monitor the delivery of 911 services, develop strategies for future enhancements to the 911 system, and distribute available grant funds to PSAPS.
* Tim Mikrut, Girard
*_Board of Examiners in Optometry
_**Purpose*: To administer and enforce the provisions of Kansas Optometry Law so that the highest quality of eye care is provided to Kansans.
* Sheena Nagaraja, Manhattan (reappointment)
*_Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
_**Purpose*: To advocate for and facilitate equal access to quality, coordinated, and comprehensive services that enhance the quality of life for Kansans who are deaf and hard of hearing.
* Katy Sosna, Olathe
*_Information Network of Kansas Board of Directors
_**Purpose*: To provide Kansans with equal electronic access to state, county, local, and other public information.
* Kyle Niemann, Overland Park (reappointment)
*_State Library Board
_**Purpose*: To advocate for statewide library services and resources, advise, and counsel the state librarian on policies and management, review/approve annual plans of regional systems of cooperating libraries, promote collaboration with the state Board of Regents to ensure the inclusion of libraries on the KAN-ED network, and recommend statewide priorities for interlibrary cooperation.
