Trump bulldozed the White House for his gilded ballroom, threw Great
Gatsby-themed parties, and took glittering bribes from foreign leaders.

3 ways I fought back during the longest shutdown in history:

 1. Standing up for federal workers’ wages: Sen. Van Hollen and I
recently introduced the True Shutdown Fairness Act to:

* Ensure all federal employees, service members, and contractors
are paid during shutdowns 
* Block Trump’s attempts at mass firings
* Guarantee back pay for 750,000 furloughed federal contractors

 2. Continuing our oversight: Measles and flu don’t care if the
government is open or closed, and RFK Jr.’s vaccine hysteria is
making Americans sick. That’s why Sen. Ron Wyden and I have added new
evidence to our 54-page report on RFK's deadly tenure at HHS. 
 3. Shining a spotlight on suffering: I’ve joined protests, held press
conferences, and attended local events to expose the true cost of
this disastrous shutdown. Whether it's airport chaos, cuts to food
assistance, or skyrocketing healthcare costs, I will not let the GOP
hide from accountability.
