The Democrat Shutdown is Over

After 43 long days, the Democrat Shutdown is finally over. Democrats in the House and Senate forced the longest government shutdown in American history – and it was all for nothing. On Wednesday night, after House Republicans passed a funding bill to reopen the government, Speaker Johnson said, “Now that Republicans have succeeded in ending the Democrat Shutdown, we look forward to continuing our important legislative work delivering results for the American people.”

Following House passage, Speaker Johnson joined President Donald J. Trump and other House Republicans in the Oval Office as he signed the bill and reopened the government, ending the longest government shutdown in American history.

Veterans Day

On Veterans Day, Speaker Johnson joined President Trump and Vice President Vance at Arlington National Cemetery for a Veterans Day ceremony. Speaker Johnson’s staff members were all across Louisiana's Fourth Congressional District at ceremonies to honor America’s veterans and thank them for their service. See more below.

Thank you,

Office of Speaker Mike Johnson
