Dear Friend,
I’m excited to announce that I’m running for re-election as your Ward 6 Councilmember because this is a critical time for the District and the Ward, and I have a proven track record of getting things done and defending DC residents.
Please join me! Donate today, and help my campaign start strong. I'm proud to run again as a Fair Elections candidate, which means I won't take any corporate or PAC money - it only comes from you. Plus, every donation from DC residents is matched 5-to-1! |

Working together, we’ve transformed Ward 6 into diverse neighborhoods where families put down roots, entrepreneurs turn their dreams into beloved small businesses, and seniors can live independently and enjoy all Ward 6 has to offer. It’s the shared vision of a city that protects what makes it great, leads boldly for the future, and grows while making sure everyone can call it home. |

Together, we've fought for great public schools parents trust and students thrive in. Ward 6 leads the way in delivering more new affordable housing than anywhere else in our city. I've championed our small businesses and helped them level the playing field against large companies trying to drive them out. I’ve implemented comprehensive solutions to improve public safety, drive down crime, and create opportunities for second chances. Two years ago, I led the District to avoid a fiscal cliff for WMATA, and last year, we saw my "STEER Act" make our streets safer by finally holding dangerous drivers accountable.
I’m so proud of our work together to deliver for Ward 6 and the entire city. Please consider a donation right now (the max is capped at $50) to help my campaign start from the strongest possible position.
But the fight is far from over, and this is a pivotal time for Ward 6 and DC. This past year has been one of the most challenging many of us can remember. Neighbors have lost their jobs. Career public servants are missing paychecks and standing in line at food banks. Residents have been taken off our streets by masked federal agents. Trump is tilting everything toward the wealthy and well-connected, while trying to pit everyone else against each other. And a hostile Congress is preying on our vulnerability and trying to erode our autonomy and rights.

This is the time for leadership. As a tested, experienced leader on the Council, I know we can fight and win. We have to stand up for our values and come out as a stronger community on the other side. Courage is contagious, which is why I’m not afraid to continue calling out the lies, the smears, and the attacks. And leadership demands we stay in the fight to remain focused on what neighbors need every day: improving our schools, continuing our progress on public safety, and making DC affordable.
That only happens one day at a time and with hard work and vision. My record shows that we can get big things done together. Now we’re facing unprecedented times and threats to the DC we know and love. Thank you for allowing me to serve as your Councilmember, and I’m asking for your continued support, trust, and partnership - as well as your vote. The stakes have never been higher. In service, |

P.S. - I mentioned this above, but if you're scrolling for the donate link, I want to remind you that as a Fair Elections candidate, every $1 donated from a DC resident is matched with $5 from the Fair Elections public financing program, and the largest donation I can accept is capped at $50 per person.
I'm enormously proud to have created the Fair Elections program back in 2018. It's taken the big dollar donations out of our local campaigns and put the power back where it belongs -- with the voters! |
