John,

I've faced racism every day of my life -- and things aren't getting better, they're getting worse. We're overpoliced. We're underpaid. We're not being heard .

I'm joining the Strike for Black Lives on Monday, July 20 because my children and grandchildren deserve better than being shot down in the street. They deserve better than a poverty wage with no benefits. They deserve to have a voice and say in their future.

The Strike for Black Lives is our chance and it has to be HUGE. We need your help.

Will you sign up to help from your own home and turn people out to protest with us on Monday, July 20? [[link removed]]

Volunteering is really easy! When you sign up to text supporters, you'll:

- receive all the training and support you need;

- join a Zoom call (if you want!) in community with other volunteers and leaders in the movement;

- do your part to support Black workers who have been crucial in keeping the country running during the pandemic.

Before the pandemic, I worked two jobs -- one at Popeye's and one at a daycare -- and clocked 80 hours a week to support my 11 year old son with a learning disability. But now, I rely solely on 40-60 hours a week at Popeye's. It's not enough.

Not only am I exposing myself to the virus by going into work every day, but I'm struggling to pay for the healthcare my son needs.

As a country, we're rightfully demanding change to policing. But we also need to demand that corporations who say "Black Lives Matter" stop exploiting workers like me. We need to demand the right to form and join unions to organize for benefits that can actually support families. We need to demand access to fair voting to have a say in the future of our country.

Together we are strength, together we create power, and together we're unstoppable.

Sign up to volunteer to make the Strike for Black Lives a day that changes history. [[link removed]]
