The shutdown is finally over, but the funding package passed by Congress fails to address the most urgent issue facing millions of Americans: the skyrocketing cost of health care.
That’s why I voted no. This bill doesn’t fix the affordability crisis that will force families to pay thousands more next year just to keep the same coverage. I’m willing to work with anyone to create a real path forward, but this isn’t it.
I’m still fighting for a real solution that keeps care affordable – but that’s exactly why GOP mega-donors have made me one of their top targets.
They don’t like that I keep calling out their reckless policies and standing up for Washington families. They’ll spend whatever it takes to silence my voice, but I’ll never back down.
Now that the government is open again, we need to make up for lost time. Our work is far from over.

In the weeks and months ahead, I’ll keep pushing for Congress to extend ACA premium tax credits so no family is forced to choose between paying for health insurance or paying their bills.
