John,

Late last night, the House passed a bill to end the government shutdown.

I voted against it because this bill does absolutely nothing to address rising costs and the healthcare crisis that millions of American families now face.

This comes after Republicans spent nearly two months out of Washington and Congress – refusing to meet to work on a deal that includes extended healthcare subsidies and tackle the cost of living crisis.

Speaker Johnson is not taking a shred of accountability. The issues that Americans are struggling with are real, and with the passage of this bill, we are forced to trust that he will bring a vote on the ACA to the House floor.

This is the latest in a long string of examples why we must flip the House majority and move toward solutions – not let working families be used as partisan political pawns.

I’m going to keep fighting for you and do everything that I can to lower costs in CA-27. And as we look ahead to next year’s midterm elections, your ongoing support will be crucial to protecting this competitive seat and moving the needle toward a Democratic majority.

Thank you,

George
