PLANNED PARENTHOOD
Today marks the start of Transgender Awareness Week, and we have something to say.

Amid countless efforts by lawmakers to take away the rights and health care access for trans people, we affirm once more: Trans and nonbinary patients will always be welcome at Planned Parenthood health centers, regardless of how they express their gender identity.

In honor of Transgender Awareness Week, will you join us in solidarity with the trans community? Take a second to share one of these posts on your social media pages to show your support.

In 2025 alone, more than 60 bans or restrictions on trans health care were introduced.1 Unfortunately, we know that this is nothing new. For years, trans people have been under attack simply for existing. The lawmakers who introduce these harmful bills will stop at nothing to take away their human rights and their access to health care.

Planned Parenthood health centers proudly provide sex education and gender-affirming services. We strive to make our Planned Parenthood community a safe, supportive environment for all patients and make sure the gender identities of all patients are acknowledged, respected, and understood.

We hope you will join us this week in affirming trans identities and experiences by continuing to support Planned Parenthood health care services, and by advocating for better civil rights protections for the LGBTQ+ community. Please take a moment to share your commitment to protecting the rights and health care access of transgender people, especially this week during Transgender Awareness Week.

Planned Parenthood is committed to serving all people in our communities with care and respect. We know that when people are truly seen and cared for, their lives, their families' lives, and their communities are better and healthier.

To close out Transgender Awareness Week, on November 20, we will celebrate Transgender Remembrance Day. It's a day in which we commemorate the trans lives that have been lost due to acts of anti-transgender violence.

Thank you for your commitment and support, this week and all year long.

In solidarity,
Planned Parenthood Federation of America

P.S.: Social media not your thing? You can still further our ability to provide gender-affirming care at health centers by making a gift of any amount to Planned Parenthood.
