Are You a History or Social Studies teacher? Do You Care About Preserving American History and Religious Freedom in the Classroom? |

Sign up to be on a Social Studies TEKS review work group!
The Texas State Board of Education is in the process of reviewing the Social Studies TEKS for all K-12 public school students. Part of the process includes having work groups draft the TEKS that will later be presented to the SBOE for a vote. Having solid people serve on a work group is crucial in making sure important historical facts are not removed from the Social Studies TEKS drafts!
We would like to encourage anyone in the Central Texas area who cares about our American and Texas Heritage and does not want to see woke materials in the TEKS to volunteer to serve on a workgroup. The best applicant will have some experience teaching history or Social Studies or has an educational background in these subjects.
Apply here.
Applications to serve on a workgroup will be open until January 19. If you live in SBOE District 10 and decide to apply, please email [email protected] Find your SBOE district here.
Your application will be sent to your SBOE member who will then decide if and when you will serve on a work group.
If you have additional questions about the Social Studies TEKS review please send an email to [email protected].

Save Women’s Sports Headed to SCOTUS January 13, 2026!
The date for oral arguments for the case Hecox v. Little has been set for January 13. The Supreme Court will hear arguments on Idaho’s state law that keeps men out of women’s sports. Follow Texas Values for future updates on this case. |

UPDATE:
The legal stakes just got higher for the Texas Ten Commandments law. The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit agreed this week to hear the Texas case—Nathan v. Alamo Heights Independent School District—en banc (that is, with the full panel of active judges) and will review it together with a similar challenge from Louisiana under that state’s Ten Commandments‐display requirement.
The en banc scheduling bypasses the usual three-judge panel and pushes the issue directly before the full court—reflecting the high national stakes of the issue. Oral arguments are set for January 2026. In practical terms, this means that Texas’s law to display the Ten Commandments in classrooms is not stalled or in limbo where school districts can ignore or delay implementation—it is now headed toward a major appellate showdown which could uphold the constitutionality of the law as the U.S. Supreme Court clearly allowed in Kennedy v. Bremerton.
Currently, the law is in effect statewide, but 11 school districts received an injunction from a federal district court to hold off on posting the Ten Commandments in classrooms until the resolution of litigation.

Join host Jonathan Covey, Director of Policy for Texas Values and Special Guest Texas Land Commissioner Dr. Dawn Buckingham, as they discuss Charlie Kirk's legacy, the Alamo, re-election, and the directive for GLO field personnel to survey Texas land for cartel tunnels.. |
|
|
"We’re going to be accessing some new technology, we’re going to step up our aerial surveillance…we’re going to do everything we can to sniff out the cartel safe havens. ...it is a multi billion dollar business. They make more money off their human trafficking than they do on their drugs which is just horrendous to see this modern day expansion of slavery.
If you don’t get love right, you don’t get anything else right. I felt like that was at the core of so many of his (Charlie Kirk's) messages, the love of conservative principles, and the ability to share that.
Great things are going on at the Alamo! We’ve got the new collection center…20,000 sf space...thousands of amazing artifacts.
The Alamo will stand for 500 years…and we will be telling our loud and proud Texas history ‘Liberty or Death’…for generations to come." ~ Dr. Dawn Buckingham
