Hey Jack,
My name is Lucy McBath, and I represent Georgia’s Sixth Congressional District. I’d like to take a few minutes to introduce myself and share a bit of my story. But before I do, I’m going to ask you to donate $5, $25, whatever you can spare, to my reelection campaign.

I never thought of myself as an activist, until my son Jordan was shot and killed in November 2012. At that moment, everything changed. I saw firsthand the corruption in our leadership and knew I had to do something about it. As a grieving mother, I decided to turn pain into purpose.

I’ve dedicated my life to ensuring that no parent has to feel the pain that I felt that day—and that I feel to this day. For the last several years, I worked as an organizer and an activist for Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action. But after the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, I felt that I needed to do more.

I decided to run for Congress in Georgia’s Sixth District—a district deemed impossible for Democrats to win—against an incumbent with millions in dark money from corporate PACs and special interests. No one thought we could win, but we did the impossible: We flipped a Republican stronghold (Newt Gingrich’s old district!) and helped take back the House.

We won that race in 2018 by a single point. And now, Cook Political Report is calling my reelection a pure toss-up. This is going to be the fight of a lifetime, but with the support of folks like you, we can win. Can I count on you to make an investment in my campaign?

Please, click here to make a contribution to my reelection campaign. Republicans have their sights set on flipping this seat, and I urgently need your help to fight back.

With love,

Lucy McBath
Congresswoman for Georgia's 6th District

P.S. Kirsten was one of first leaders to endorse my campaign—and the support of this Off the Sidelines community was beyond helpful. Here’s a photo of Kirsten and me on the trail back in 2018 (and here’s hoping we’ll be able to see each other in person again someday soon!).

Paid for by Gillibrand for Senate
