Last week, we called for a primary challenge against Senator Chuck Schumer. Now, people from across the country are joining us in saying Schumer has got to GO.

Time and again, Schumer has caved to Donald Trump, far-right Republicans, and corporate interests when it matters most. Last week’s shutdown deal was just the latest in a long line of capitulations under his leadership.

As Minority Leader, his job is to unite the Democratic caucus as the opposition party and stand up to Trump’s agenda. But instead, he let 8 Democratic Senators defect and vote to let Republicans gut our health care — including his own second-in-command in leadership, Whip Sen. Dick Durbin.

This is a moment of real momentum. More and more people are waking up to the FAILURE of Democratic leadership in Congress and realizing it’s time to #DumpChuck. We can’t waste it.

That’s why we’re joining progressives across the country to demand that Schumer resign, so he can be replaced with an appointee by the governor ASAP. The working-class people of New York and the country at large deserve a leader who will actually fight for them—not cave at the most critical moment.
