*Supporting Our Neighbors Year-Round*
"It’s Not Just a Shutdown/Holiday Thing"
This is Representative Dean Cray of Palmyra with your Weekly Republican Radio Address.
Hunger doesn’t take a holiday — and it doesn’t wait for a government shutdown or a headline.
Even when the news moves on, there are still families right here in Maine who struggle to put food on the table.
Local food pantries, churches, and volunteer groups work every single day to help our neighbors.
But they can’t do it alone.
As we approach the holidays — and throughout the entire year — I encourage you to connect with the local groups in your community, the food pantries, and the organizations that distribute meals to families in need.
They know where the need is greatest, and they welcome every hand willing to help.
If you’re able, consider donating, volunteering, or simply lending a hand.
Compassion shouldn’t follow the news cycle. It should be who we are — all year long.
Because the need doesn’t take a break.
Hunger doesn’t wait for the headlines.
And Mainers need us — every month of the year.
Yes, government programs have their place, but the strongest support comes from voluntary, caring, generous giving — the kind that has always defined our communities.
As Scripture reminds us: ""*God loves a cheerful giver."*"
