Email from Judy Chu I proudly voted NO last night on the GOP bill that will do nothing to protect affordable healthcare.   Dear John, I proudly voted NO last night on the GOP bill that will do nothing to protect affordable healthcare. Our government has been shut down for over 40 days, and we saw the true priorities of Trump and the GOP. Instead of working with us to make healthcare affordable, they are kicking even more people off of their health insurance, on top of the 12 million who were kicked off of Medicaid earlier this year. They also let millions of Americans go hungry by refusing to pay food assistance benefits. At the same time that he withheld SNAP food benefits from millions, Trump tore down the east wing of the White House to start construction on his $300 million ballroom and threw lavish parties for his donors at his private clubs. It’s clear the GOP and the Trump Administration do not care about working families. I refuse to let the GOP stand in the way of protecting healthcare for millions. I spoke out every day for 40 days about how vital it is that we extend these ACA subsidies, and then I proudly voted NO on this bill. We’re in for a tough fight in the House with Speaker Johnson at the helm, bending to every whim of President Trump. Can you chip in to my re-election campaign today so I’m ready to fight back? DONATE The GOP found trillions of dollars to give tax cuts to billionaires, but they won’t lift a finger to extend these credits and help the American people access healthcare. I will never back down from a fight when it comes to standing up for working families.
