Dear Jack,
As American Wild Horse Conservation (AWHC) enters this new chapter, I want to take a moment to reflect on what grounds us – gratitude for how far we’ve come and purpose in the work that lies ahead.
With the transition of longtime Executive Director, Suzanne Roy, I along with our Board of Directors and dedicated staff, remain deeply committed to advancing this important work with focus, transparency, and purpose.
Over the past decade, AWHC has grown into a leader in wild horse and burro protection. As we approach the end of the year, we know that trust and accountability are central to our continued success.
Every dollar we receive is an investment in the future freedom of these iconic animals, and we take that responsibility seriously. As we enter this season of giving — a time when many organizations are reaching out for your support — I wanted to take a moment to share AWHC’s commitment to transparency.
You deserve to know exactly how your generosity fuels real impact for the innocent animals we fight to keep free. Of every dollar donated to this organization, more than 80% goes directly to the fight to protect wild herds — and here are some of the ways we are doing just that:
* On-the-ground conservation: Supporting fertility control and range monitoring programs that keep wild horses wild
* Policy and legal advocacy: Advancing humane management reforms and defending herds against harmful government actions
* Public education and community outreach: Engaging Americans nationwide to stand up for wild horses and burros
As we look forward, AWHC remains guided by strong leadership, a steady mission, and the same wild spirit that drives us all. Thank you for standing with us, Jack – your support continues to make progress possible for America’s cherished wild herds.
With appreciation,
