We’re solidly in November now, and I don’t know about you, but I am not ready for Thanksgiving yet. We just celebrated one holiday, and now we’re already gearing up for the next!
As much as I love the holiday season, I sometimes struggle with how close everything is together. For three months straight, we’re celebrating, giving gifts, decorating, and doing a whole slew of festive things. It’s so easy to get caught up in all of it and forget to slow down.
If you’re looking for a way to pause and be more present this season, I’d encourage you to sign up for our Advent devotional. I know — we haven’t even made it to Thanksgiving yet, and here I am talking about Advent! But in the spirit of taking time to reflect and truly savor these holidays, this weekly video devotional is a simple, meaningful way to do just that.
We hope you’ll join us! Just text ADVENT to 32728, and you’ll start receiving the devotional messages as soon as Advent begins.
In the meantime, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving — and that you take it one holiday at a time.
Preview of Next Week:
On the Show — When those between college and marriage feel lost at church, a debate on churches valuing marriage over singleness, and how to deal with bullies in the workplace
On the Site — Dealing with your identity baggage, worrying about others’ opinions, and the dark side of career ambition
