Dear John,
Across the country, immigration enforcement activity continues to impact families, children and the early childhood programs that serve them. Start Early is hosting two national webinars that explore how early learning and maternal health leaders can take action — building safer spaces and stronger systems of support for families in uncertain times.

Webinar #1: Protecting Mothers and Babies: Advocating for Families Amid Immigration Enforcement
Date: November 17 | Time: 1:00–2:00 p.m. CT / 2:00–3:00 p.m. ET
As immigration enforcement intensifies across the U.S., growing numbers of pregnant, postpartum and nursing women are being detained — putting the health and safety of families at risk. Join Start Early and the Women’s Refugee Commission for a timely discussion on how maternal health professionals and advocates can respond.
This session will share practical tools and resources to help document detentions, support affected families and advance local and state “safe space” policies that protect expectant women and new parents, including through home visiting programs.
This webinar is co-sponsored by the Institute for the Advancement of Family Support Professionals, Breastfeeding USA, National Women's Law Center and Moms Rising.

Webinar #2: Creating Safe Spaces: Protecting Child Care Programs Amid Immigration Enforcement
Date: November 19 | Time: 1:00–2:00 p.m. CT / 2:00–3:00 p.m. ET
Across the country, early childhood programs are navigating how to keep children, families and staff safe as immigration enforcement activity increases near schools and child care centers. Join Start Early and partners for a conversation on strategies to promote safety, stability and trust in early learning settings.
Advocates from Start Early Illinois will share their experience advancing Safe Space legislation—a groundbreaking policy designed to protect child care centers from immigration enforcement—and offer insights, resources and lessons learned that can inform similar efforts in other states and communities.
This webinar is co-sponsored by Latino Policy Forum, Illinois Action for Children, and Moms Rising.
